The Problem

As research becomes increasingly data-driven, our understanding of the world around us is only as accurate as the data we have available. We believe in equitable health research that serves communities of all backgrounds. This is why we built Global.health - a platform that brings together outbreak data from diverse communities and makes it available to all, regardless of geographic location or organizational affiliation.

The Solution

Global.health was envisioned in 2021 by a group of global researchers, including Oxford, Harvard, Northeastern, The Gorgas Institute, HealthMap at Boston Children's Hospital, Georgetown, University of Washington, and Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, to build a detailed and accurate centralized open resource of verified case-level data of the first 100 days of an infectious disease outbreak. Global.health offered the first centralized resource of line-list epidemiological case-level data during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanded to provide line-list data for the mpox and ebola outbreaks in 2022 and the Marburg outbreak in 2023. Global.health's 100 Days Missions aim to provide early situational awareness and fill a critical gap in the continuum of data during outbreaks. By creating a centralized open resource of this data from around the world, Global.health aims to accelerate the work of researchers, public health officials, and the global community to better prepare for, respond to, and reduce the burden of disease outbreaks.
