Aimee Han is a Project Manager at HealthMap, where she supports outbreak response, pandemic preparedness, and research aimed at leveraging healthcare information technology.
With specialized expertise in biosurveillance and pandemic response, Aimee has previously worked on a surveillance program focused on early detection of biological events using a One Health approach. As Chief Analyst, she led the analytical team during the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, managing the response from initial detection through the post-pandemic phase. For her contributions to surge operations during the "swine flu" crisis, she received a Letter of Commendation from the U.S. Government.
Currently, Aimee is the Project Manager and Data Curation Lead for the Global.health team, a data science initiative that aims to enable the rapid sharing of trusted and open public health data during the early phase of an outbreak. She also contributes to research that leverages healthcare information technology to improve patient outcomes for the mother-infant dyad, an important patient population at Boston Children’s.
Aimee holds a Master’s in Microbiology and Immunology from Georgetown University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned a Professional Manager Certificate from Georgetown’s Leadership Development Program to enhance her leadership and management skills to effectively lead people and teams. She also earned a certificate in Product Management Strategy from General Assembly, equipping her to drive products and features toward long-term success.
